Help ! Lost block heater

My son cleverly tucked the block heater cord "back into the hole", and drove away. He brought the van back, parked it. The next day he could not find the block heater cord. No further explanation needed.

So, where is the block heater on a 2000 Ford E-350, 7.3 located? Is it a frost plug type, or in the oil pan? Or where?

I have to find the block heater to see what kind of cord I need.

It should be a coolant heater. You should be able to find it in front of the driverside tire just inside the frame rail. If that's what you are asking. At least that's where it is on my 96. The newer trucks may be different.

the source of the cord is above the oil filter going into the same housing (oil cooler/filter housing) it simply plugs into that socket. if it still there just trace it down. if not call ford and get a new one. it has two metal fingers that hold the plug tight just get under them with a screw driver to release them the pull.
