C6 or AOD?
What is the difference between a C6 ford, and an AOD ford transmission, besides the almost $500.00 in price?

well the answer is kinda in your question. aod = automatic overdrive c6 is no overdrive. the aod is built from a c4 tranny. the e40d is built form a c6 tranny.

The C4 is built for lower HP engines Small Blocks
The C6 is built for higher Hp engines Big Blocks

but we all know ford never had BB and SB enignes.

When the C4 and C6 were introduced, the offerings were FE (big block) or W as in 289, (small block)
