why allways 2wd power steering coversion. does know one own a 4wd
I have a question? I reed all the time on here about 2wd power steering conversion's. Why doesn't any one post on 4wd. Did they not make as many 4wd's or what. I have a 66 f-100 4wd 6inch lift 35x12.50x15. I am getting tired of having to get out the old bull riding equipment when i go off road. I have looked at several different 72-79 4wd trucks. the problem is the they all mount on the inside of the frame, and my steering box is on the outside. So could someone please help me. I found a late model box bronco steering box at autozone thats mounts on the outside of the frame looks like it might fit. I just don't want to pay 435$ when maybe i could go to the graveyard to find one for much cheeper.

Therte were very few 4wd's made back then. I have seen a tech article right here that talks about using the power steering bowes from a 77 1/2-79 4x4. They have real power steering, not just a ram asssist like the earlier trucks. Here are 3 ways to do it from the FTE tech article section,,,,,, BTW, I have some of these steering boxes that I saved from some 78-79 trucks I parted. Let me know if you can't find any locally.
