is it possible to twin stick a np 208

nope like bremen said only geared cases can be twin sticked. on chain drive cases there is only one shift rail that moves a fork inside the case that in turn moves a sprocket that engages and disengages the 4x4 sprocket. on a geared case there is 2 seperate shift rails and two seperate sprockets to control the 4x4 drive system
hope that made some sort of sense somewhere!

that makes sense, thanks. So then would a gear driven case be stronger and how hard would it be to swap out the 208 for a 205 and would it be worth it just to have the twin sticks. the truck in question is a '82 F-150 that will eventually recieve a dana 50 TTB and FF dana 60 rear.

gear driven case is always stronger simply due to the fact that the chain can't pop off and wedge itself somewhere it aint supposed to go
yes it would be well worth it as the 205 is 100x stronger than the 208 (trust me, i know from experience ) and also the twinsticks are badass! it's cool to be able to do front wheel burn outs and make your buddies do a double take
word of advice! do NOT mess with the D50ttb. you will be wasting your time! a solid axle D44 is stronger then the D50ttb! that swap is also very easy and is extremely worth it (speaking of the Dxxttb to D60solid axle). and iof you can get a sterling 10.25", 14 bolt, or D70 rear axle as they will hold up WAY better then the D60 rear!
just my opinion

yes I know that the dana 50 isn't as strong but should work fine for now besides it was given to me by a guy who didn't have the room to store it and has already been gone through and has 4.10 gears I need. the 60 was also cheap initially but after I spent the $120 for clutches and $120 to set up the gears but it is done now and ready to go.

o ok! i didn't know you had everything planned out already! if you need any parts i have a d50 sitting down at the barn i will be scrapping sometime in the near future. PM me if you are interested!
ya the D50 is stronger than the D44ttb but i personally dont think it is stronger than the D44 solid axle mainly due to the inside u-joint. i haven't had much first hand experience with them but in my bronco club there is always someone talking bad about the D50's.
anywho, cool man! glad ya got it together. leats your junk runs

well the case itself is a direct replacement... menaing it'll bolt up. you will need to rework your crossmembers and your driveshafts will need to be lengthened/shortened, and the shifter hole may need to be cut out a lil but what i did is just heat the shifters and bend the shifters!
no pics but i did this swap almost a year ago in Jan!
