Thay might be able to get you the parts cheaper and should certainly be able to answer your questions. I've been told if you're just changing parts you don't have to make any adjustments but these guys would know for sure.
thanks for the info someone told be about them but didn't say where they where located ,looked the up with the address you gave me called them this morning they told me everything i needed to know, some parts where cheaperbut i still needed to go to the ford garage to get spider gears they didn't carry them dealer only they said looks like i will be spending the $800.+ if i want to rebuild it . they told me if i do just to put in a good grade of 80/90wt gearlube and add the ford additive for the clutchs they said the synthetic oil dosen't lube and cool the clutchs enough that why they fail.
I take it you are talking about a 10.25" rear end. If so, yes you do have to remove the Differential Case as you will need to use a Forcing Screw, Step Plate and Nut to compress the Dished Spacer to put the Differential Pinion Gears back in and also to take them out.
You will be able to use the same side shims as long as you use the same Differential Case and your back lash was right before you took it out , make sure you mark them left and right when you take them out.
yes it is a 10.25 rear end ,talked to drive train specialists today they told me with as much metal floating around in the rear end it would be wise to replace bearings and all. at least my ring gear and pinon gear are ok it is a little more than I really want to chance doing it myself don't really have all the needed tools to set every thing back up properly looks like i will have to bite the bullet and have it done thanks for the info
