Came across this old post, interesting.
[quote]I'll go ya one further GasHog, a slick Exxon salesman came to our plant and told us how much better his oil was compaired to Shell Mysella LA 40. He was so confident that he put his money where his mouth was. We changed oil (1150 gallons worth) over the his Exxon product. Not only did the oil turn all foamy and discolored, but the corrosion inhibitor package was not near what Shells was. The inside of the crankcase was full of rust. The little time we did run it, the exhaust ports were full of carbon, something that never happened with Shell. So in the end he payed for us to change inline strainers 3 times, and oil filters twice, and three flushes with Shell to get all the sludge out of the engine. He has not been back since, and don't reckin he ever will make that mistake again. So tell me some more about these myths you have been hearing about.

IMHO it should've been locked along time ago. Go back to the beginning of this thread, then determine who needs to show a little respect for others.

Oh its not an interuption at all General. I don't know that it is any better or worse than Mobil 1. Amsoil will not pay to get all of their lubricants API certified. Which can enter into a warranty dispute over a failure between you and the dealership, if one was to occur where lubrication may have been in question. (I could really care less about the MLM scheme of things, if it was the best I could run, I would not mind paying a premium for it.) In my opinion if its API CI+4 rated, and available locally, go for it. I run Rotella T synthetic, for no other reason than all the China-Marts carry it here. Some like Chevron Delo, others have reported good luck with Mobil Delevac 1. Some of the real oil gurus in the lubricaton section of this site, really like Mystic (Owned by Citgo) for their exceptional add packs and base stock just in their conventional oil. (Similar to what the above other brands use in their syn formulas)

3/4 get a life dude. You ain't no saint either.
"And what is the reason for deleting my posts? I know, and respect the guidelines. I'm as passionate as Jeff about this subject, and I feel you pulled the rug out from under me on this issue.
I know the other individual who was getting a little hot under the collar, and made threatening remarks should've been chastised. But your placing me in the same boat as him, when I totally disagree with his attitude towards others. All I did was state a fact, no where does it say in Fords latest TSB on oil that all they recommend is CI-4+.
I know quite a few people on this site that state they use Mobil 1 Truck & SUV, but apparently don't want to chime in for fear of offending Jeff's stand on this issue. Is this what this site is all about?
I promise I won't post anymore on this thread, I think I've gotten the message."
All I have to say about the above is Wahhhhhhh!
For the record, I have no problem being corrected. If I'm proven wrong, no problem. Thats life, I have been wrong before. However you have yet to prove me wrong. You were the one that interjected your knowlegde of what I posted. Nobody backed you up when your post got deleted, and no one is backing you up here either.
