Took The Sting Out Of A Rumble Bee.

The other evening on the heels of a 14+ hr day at work, I was on my drive home. I am on the interstate which is ending in a few hundred feet at a stop light. As I get closer I pass a fellow super duty owner. I begin to notice a truck getting closer to my rear bumper. I am not paying that much attention to him. I am pulling away a bit from the other super duty. This gives the guy behind me enough room to change lanes and fly past. It was a Dodge Rumbe Bee. It had straight pipes because it was loud. To loud for me. I like an exhuast that is much more refined sounding.

Like I said we were heading to a stop light. We stopped next to each other. He was not looking at me. There was traffic in front of us so it was tough to let loose.

The light turned green and he started to go and gave it some gas. I was right there about a half a truck behind. I romped on it and said hello as the mighty V10 showed some teeth. NOW he was looking at me. He saw V10 and Banks Power and grinned. "GOOD" I said to myself. We are both on the same page.

To the next light we went and like the parting of the red sea so did the traffic. Just the two of us. GREEN went the light and he pulled away quicker that I anticipated. I held back to gain the momentum and let the V10 come up to speed. As the RPM's climbed into the 3000+ range. OH YES! The headers come alive then. Pulling next to him and then edging infront. It shift into third and that SCMT shift is very quick and firm. Gaining more and more distance. It was over. YELLOW light ahead.

Rumble Bee just got Squished.

As I begin to slow for the light. He keeps on going and runs the RED light. Must have been ashamed to stop.

REMEMBER the fellow super duty guy? He pulls up to me and looks over. I look at him. He says DAMN. Is that thing supercharged. NO, I replied. I say "just a ole V10" "really" he says "I got to get one" He had a V8 in his truck. He said "I thought you had a supercharger by the pitch of the exhaust." I say "Just that ole V10 again" He stated "It does sound odd at first but anything that dame fast can sound odd as hell" I smiled and the light turned green and away we went.

Great post, and the Rumble Bee guy showed his real colors when he ran the red.
Only a Moron would do that and I'm glad he chose Dodge. Take care.

Sweeeeet! I love to hear stories like that, especially when it involves a Dodge. I myself keep trying to get folks to commit to a little run around here but never have any luck. I particularly look for guys who have their girlfriend with them but again, no luck. Must be scared!

Have yet to have a Dodge boy try it at a light. Once or twice, I've had one near me, in three lanes of traffic but when they see the V10 badge (and they do look for it), they slink away.

My nephew-in-law works at a Dodge dealer. He started the testosterone thing with me one day, talking about "hooking up" my Ford to a Dodge Hemi. I immediately started to get hot under the collar.

I reminded him I had a V10, and you know what his answer was? "Oh... well... forget it..." and walked away.

It's a Dodge-insider thing that the V10 is unbeatable, apparently...

Haha, you got to love the kill stories, especially the Dodges. I thought I would take what I thought was a modded Hemi one night. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by a viper powered SRT-10. It was night so I had no clue until the truck took off from me like a rocket. I was so surprised.

You gotta look for the HEMI badge, another way to say "sucker" ...

Has the word on the ford v10 made it onto the dodge forums? It does seem that some hemi's are real gunshy lately.

I know one guy that has v-10 that he was thinking of debadging because no of the dodge boys will race him , so I suggested that instead of debadging it he put some 5.4 badges on it instead , well two weeks later i run into him and he has 5.4 's on it and he's ear to ear smiles now He figures the fun will last for a few weeks till they catch on.
