05 Expedition - AC switch/light not working?
My 2005 Expedition has a push button A/C switch with an orange light that indicates whether the A/C compressor currently has voltage or not in the current mode of the temperature control system. Pushing the switch turns on/off the orange light (activates/deactivates compressor) depending on its current state.
I believe (not 100% sure) that the orange light by default is on when the "mode selection ****" is positioned on Defrost. The operator could then push the A/C button to de-energize the A/C compressor and turn out the orange light on the push button A/C switch and run defrost without the compressor running.
The above is my recollection. Currently, in the Defrost position, the A/C push button switch light is out and pushing the switch does not turn the light on. Yet the A/C compressor is energized in the Defrost position all the time.
Can someone with an Expedition let me know if my recollection of how it should work is correct (and thus I have an issue) or if it is currently working correctly (and thus I'm imagining things about how it used to work)?
I'd really appreciate that!! Thanks very much!!
