<HR style="COLOR: #666666" SIZE=1>I will be using my scout 800 for offroad and street. I have a 1969 ford 302 which I will be suping up with balancing, pocket porting valve job, schneder stump puller cam, 1.7 rockers, headers larger diameter, I am expecting around 300 hp at 4500 rpm and 400 lbs of toruqe at 2500 rpm which is what my desktop dyno suggest I will get. Any way I want to run a 4 barrel although I am limited to one that I can get running and tuned for within $100, I am interested in the Holley 390,450, autolite 4barrels, I can get autolites off vechiles in junkyards and rebuild them for much less that that of a new model. I also would prefer to rebuild my carb so I can know my carb completely.
any info on how these carbs do offroad on steep hills, uneven terrain, angles ect, is much appreciated.

Yes they would. The Motorcraft carb kinda have that too. The inlet is in the center and the floats extend out and curve around with the front of the carb.
I would think that smaller tube headers would give you more mid-range power in the rpm range that you are looking to run. 1.5" or 1-5/8" tubes.
