Buying A House

Well I have gone and done it now. Me and my future wife have bought a house together. we close on the house on october 28th. it has a nice 27x27 detached gerage. it also has a finnished basement with a wet bar. bas news is that i either need to get rid of my show truck or refinance it to lower the payments to help afford the house more easily. my plans are to put a paint booth in the gerage to make some side money.

It all sounds good. The wet bar, detached garage and paint booth.
On the other hand selling the show truck is a hard decision to make because it is such a nice looking truck. Or at least the last time I seen it.

I was going to build a big detached garage in my back yard but I don't have enough money. So instead I'm replacing the rear screened in porch with a shop for my Harley. The screened in porch is 17' x 11'. I plan on making it a tad bigger so I can fit two motorcycle lift tables in it. Going up to 19'x 13'. I don't plan on telling the zoning commision about it either.

My biggest problem is that the past owners had a hack job of an asphalt company lay down a new driveway about 5 years ago and they black topped over the sides of the screened in porch. So the inside of the porch is about 1 inch lower than the driveway. So i'll have to figure out a way to get the black top up off the concrete that's under it. And pour me a 2 inch high slab so I can build the new rear porch/shop. Any ideas?

well if you got access to a propane torch that black top people use it would be easier. with that you could take a spud bar and chip off the edge so it gradually slopes down. or i would just take a pick ax and a sledge hammer and bust it back to where i need it to stop. you do not in any way want to pour concret over black top. eventually the black top will leave a void and the concret would give away. but you can always lay black top over concret.
