I just installed a tranny gauge on my truck and my brothers truck, I haven't driven mine yet but my brothers gauge is not working. I did use liquid teflon on the threads of the sender, will that cause the sender to not ground properly and then not work?
Yes it can, but did you drive it for 10 or 20 minutes to make sure it has warmed up? The factory gauge will show warm WAY BEFORE the the temps acually come up.

what kind are they? i had the same problem with my ISSPRO's. turned out to be a bad amplifier box. But it depends on what kind you have and if you have an amp box.
these are autometer z-series gauges, they don't have amp boxes but i didn't think i would run into a problem i couldn't fix easily. I think I am going to take the sender out and brush the teflon off of it the best I can and see what it does.
if you only have one wire that goes to the sender, then you do not want thread tape or anything else on the threads because the sender grounds itself through those threads to complete the circut... i had to take mine out because the gauge wasn't working and i couldn't remember if i put the tape on or not... i didn't think so, but i couldn't be sure... when i took it out... no tape...! so i had to find the problem... turned out that i wired it backwards... confusinng directions, (i think they were originally written in french..!)... good tech support at blackclouddiesel though..!
I wouldnt sweat it Mine never moved untill I towed trailer on hot humid day..Very rare that it will move unless 90 hot humid in traffic...Where does gauge start at?150F or 140F?
