Hey SoCal, I live in SoCal...checkout www.dieselsecret.com . I have seen something like this on TV where some guy in Santa Monica was running his Benz on something like this. The question is, will the 6.0 run on this stuff, and would it void any warranty?

If you get this, let me know what you think.

Attention everyone, I was just through a red fuel stop and check yesterday here in WV. While the guy was dipping my tanks we talked about WVO and home made biodiesel.

The enforcement division of the WV tax and revenue department is headed to Columbus Ohio next week for a week of training and seminars on how to detect WVO and home made biodiesel.

I do not know if any other states will be sending their people to the seminars or not. But WV and Ohio are onto the game and want their road tax which is about 50 cents per gallon.

If you are running WVO or home made Biodiesel, you should be checking into how to pay and how much to pay per gallon for road use tax in your state.
The little card they give you no longer says red fuel, it now says untaxed fuel.
Untaxed fuel fine is 10 dollars per gallon or 5000 dollars which ever is greater for the first offense.
Also there is another new line that saves refusal to let them dip your tank is 5000 per occurance.

the restaurant does not drive down the road
I have said it before, the road use tax is the only tax I do not have a problem paying.
I drive a lot, and I like the pot holes fixed.
It costs a lot less to maintain my old truck when I am driving on smooth roads.

At the present rate of fuel price increases I may be checking into making bio diesel, but if I do I will give the state their road tax.

Who I will not be giving my money to is Exxon and the Middle East.

.70 per gallon to make and .50 to the state....I'd drive 150 miles for 1.20 a gallon fuel.

I have been watching many of the threads about WVO and have seen a lot of great info on how to build a system, but SoCalDieselfan's question is the only one I have not seen convincingly answered.

Where is the definitive answers about getting WVO? Do chinese restaurants really give this up as easily as posted?

Ed W ... I took a client to lunch at my fav Sushi bar just the other day. I chatted the owner up about his WVO situation. He said he pays $10 a month to dispose of said waste. He said he does about 55 gallons per month. He said it has water in it too. I said Id pick it up for free. He said "you do that, and I'll call my friends all over the county, and you can have theirs too."

But bear in mind ... Ive been a good customer of theirs for nearly 20 yrs now. I think you need to start with a local place like that and then get an introduction to the others. As with anything else - good "service" travels and people like friendly people who save them $$$. Creative ways to earn their trust and respect will likely be the call of the day. Flowers once in a while for "Mama-son", a six pack of Sapporo's, bringing the whole family in for dinner and leaving a great tip every so often, assisting them with arranging / cleaning up their WVO situation out back for them, bringing other guests in with you to their diner and talking up their good work and food in the community ... etc .. etc ...

Here in Orange County , CA we're blessed with 100's of viable restaurants withing a 10 sq mile area.
