i have a mint condition. 62,XXX mile 68 3/4 ton ford pick up. which is a keep sake but the 300 6 cylider. decided to have a wrist pin slide out and start tapping like a rod. i have a 83 4 barrel high output 351 windsor. and im wanting to know if my 300 flywheel will work on my 351w. the truck is a four speed and i want to keep it that way .

 

No, you will need to find a flywheel for the 351 to make the swap. The 300 is internally balanced so there is no weight on the flywheel were the 351 is externally balanced and there is a weight on the flywheel. It will bolt up but makes for a lot of vibration. A 302 flywheel will work but be careful because they changed the weight on the flywheel I think in 1979. But for some reason I do not believe they changed the weight on the 351. It has been a while since I have done the swap so I am a little unsure of my facts with the changing of the weights on the V8s. Also I mainly did the swap with a 302. Do a search of this sight I know the info is on here. Don't let this stop you the flywheels are readily available at the junkyards. This sounds like a fun project and should make your old ford run good. Zems
