1975 F250 crewcab - Camper Special obtained - Some questions...
I recently picked up a 75 Camper Special (390) for hauling some stuff from my property.
I bought it for a song and it needs a bit of work - I figured I would ask you guys for some insight - I have done a search for these topics and was unable to find a clear answer for my application-
I would like to change out all the bulbs - headlight/turn signals/reverse/etc. Dash lights are fine. Is there a list somewhere that would be a good reference for this sort of list?
I have a few guages that seem to have some trouble - speedometer (may need to be lubed as I have read on the forum here) - temp guage doesn't work (would like to get this fixed - any thoughts on where to look)?
The portion of metal that goes behind the grill that holds the hood release handle has rusted through at the bottom and it has been wired to the lower portion of the grill to allow me to open the hood - any ideas on where to find a replacement for the part that runs parallel to the ground just under the grill in the front? (I am sure pix would probably help to explain it better).
My tailgate handle is gone and there are a couple of rods in the hole that I was told could be pulled with a pair of pliers to open the tailgate - is there a part number for this that I could request at Autozone to replace the hole with a handle and maybe a written process to replace this?
I have yet to clean out the truck and bed to see what kind of rust I truly have, but that is part of the fun - right?
I look forward to asking/answering questions as this this truck gets used...
Thanks!

I would start by buying a Chiltons repair manual at Orielly or Auto Zone for something like $15-20. It will show you how to replace the items and other stuff to look for. As far as the other items, best bet would try a wreck yard or for "new" stuff try online at jcwtruck.com. I hope this helps.

Welcome.
Why are you replacing your bulbs? If they work, I wouldn't mess with 'em.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure that the brake/rear signal lights are the standard 1157 type. The rest of them should be listed in the reference book at pretty much any parts store. They aren't hard to find or very expensive.
For the tailgate, pulling those rods together will unlatch the gate. If you don't mind how it looks, pliers often work, or you can jury rig something up.
As for rust in the bed, throw a sheet of plywood over the holes and you should be good to go.
Enjoy your rig!

If its the same as a 75 Bronco they are Front park/turn 1157, tail stop/turn 1157, backup 1156, license plate 1178, courtesy dome 212-2, instrument panel 631, cluster 18959 (3 required) headlamp wipe/wash switch 2162, heater 2162, prndl 1445, radio 1895, brake warning 1445, high beam indicator 1895, turn signal 194. Thats all I can remember( only kidding guys-I can hardly remember my name anymore) I got this off a wiring diagram from ebay.
