Are you running air bags to level the rear with that kind of load? Most trucks would be squatting down bad!

No air bags, Just the biggest overloads I've ever seen.... I dunno how much it wieghs, The loader operator said there was a little over 2 cubic meters and it was pretty wet, so I'm guessing 6 to 8k lbs (this is just a guess though, I wasn't about to go to the scales to check it.... LOL)

I just went to this site
http://www.simetric.co.uk/si_materials.htm
They had wet sand at 1922 kg per cu M
That works out to 8500 lbs for 2 cu m

good thing I didn't go to the scales I guess ( I kinda wondered why the loader operator jumped out and said "Cool truck man!"

So when are you gonna load it up?

9200 pounds of gravel on my 86 250....and it has been doing that for 20 years.

God I love my Ford.

I am running 7 leaf main springs and 5 leaf overloads. Ya gotta see the look on the people in the scale house with a load like that on.
9200+8060=17260 gross...and I did weigh out of the gravel pit.

that WHITE stuff you see is SNOW... but you're comment is still true... snow can wiegh alot too, and unlike rain, it doesn't go away...!

my 02 has an extra pair of load springs that never take any load, even when i hook up my 5ver, the truck only squats a few inches and there are several more left before these springs would take any load... these are stock springs... can anybody tell me anything about these..? is there a way to find out what my mule has on her and how much load she is rated for..?

I used to have a 1969 F350 dump truck with a LARGE hydraulic box on it. (only 36k original miles when I sold it in 2002) I hauled over 12k in gravel ( over 18k gross) on it several times, and the bed wasn't even close to full. I was only 3 miles from the gravel pit, and I wouldn't have wanted to haul it 20 miles, but it easily handled and dumped the load. But since no power steering, you had to be careful And it had heavy, heavy duty springs under it, so it didn't bottom out either.

Last fall after a rainy stretch I weighed my pickup before and after I washed it and found out it can haul over 800lbs of mud on the outside and undercarriage.......

Does that count?

Last week, went to get the wife some pea gravel for the back yard in my stock F250-02 . We have a place that weighs your turck before you get the gravel then after.
Beginning weight 7040, ending weight 10,420. So that comes out to be 3380 in gravel. The truck just did start to get to those pair of overload springs that Johnny8 was talking about.
And to think I bought a 3/4 ton truck that will haul close to 2 tons.
