best of the best?

i am looking into modding my truck. 2002 7.3, crew cab. i was wondering what exhaust, intake, tuner/chip you all like and recommend. i was thinking that after i get gauges, ill only get a tuner/chip, intake, and exhaust. its an automatic, so i dont want to overstress the tranny. i dont want to tear into the tranny to upgrade anything, so only a shift module that would tighten up shifting would be okay, (only add-ons) i want to hear the exhaust rumble more, but i dont want an overly loud turbo whine. the 6.0L whine is enough for me. i want you all to help me out with the best accesories that you like, so i can make the best decisions. i love how a banks monster exhaust sounds on a 7.3, but i know they arent the most economical(pricewise) i also like the dual exhaust banks has, but its for the 6.0L only i think. wouldnt it be the same exhaust from the cat back, right? im thinking duals is what i want, do you reccomend it? cat-back exhaust or a full-monty with new 4'' DP from turbo back? is MBRP any good? how about RBP's products? has anyone heard of Rolling Big Power? (RBP) sorry for so many questions, but you all said "just ask" if you had questions, and heh, i did thanks everyone

I like the look of the High Visibility Isspro guages. They have a nice color band showing safe temps, then a little yellow and red.
You'll be happy with a 4" downpipe, system and straight through muffler.
Jody Tipton is the current favorite for tuning and chips.
Transmission options are many. Suggest doing a lot of reading before you take the plunge.

what kind of transmission upgrades? i really dont want to dig into it, it seems like a very hard job to do. so can i upgrade my power at all without having to stiffen up the transmission?

EDIT--- would you recommend a post-turbo (downpipe) or pre-turbo (uppipe) EGT gauge?

Yes.
I would get the sonnax/tricumulator at least. Not expensive.

http://www.blackclouddiesel.com/Ford...ion/sonnax.htm this it i guess? how do you install it- i mean, what all do you have to do to install it. i might get a package from BlackCloud and that may be in it.

do you recommend one of the superior turbo wheels? wouldnt that make it howl really loud?

You will love the rumble of a dual exhaust system. MBRP is very good and is available through sponsors of this site. 4" turbo back is the way to go...or 3.5" to 4" is ok too...so long as you get rid of the stock (junk) downpipe.

I ran the 1/4 mile this past week and ran a 16.021 at 85 MPH. I looked it up on-line and that is 496 RWHP so this whole sonnax/tricumulator is my next mod, I dont want to screw up my tranny! thanks for helping strokin_it7.3 and me out guys!!

I would love to have the ability to flip tunes on the fly with a flip chip, but without having warantee anymore, the tuner is a great option for me, has a code scanner(what I bought it for) as well as mulitiple tunes. I was considering a flip chip, and keeping the predator just for a code scanner, never know when it comes in handy. Just my .02

ok... here's a list of the mods i've done to my 02 7.3 F350 auto:

dipricol gauges with a-pillar mount (pyro, tranny temp, 35 psi boost) - $330
wastgate accuator mod - free
ccv mod - $12
"quick wix" 46637 intake filter mod - $18
sonnax tranny kit - $56 (plus i had it installed - add $56 or so)
walker big truck muffler - $54 (plus i had it installed - add $90)
predator tuner - $380 (i call this one the "dial-a-torque" machine)
24k rated low pressure drop tru-cool tranny cooler - $78 (added to the stock setup)
map sensor boost fooler - $28
total - $1102 having a 7.3 that runs and shifts like it should --- PRICELESS...!

the moral of the story is that you don't HAVE to spend crazy money to get your mule running shifting and pulling stronger...!

Please take no offense at this, but you need to find a new calculator.

16.0 in a PSD is around 300 RWHP.

Yeah, What Cookie88 said. I have a lot of mods and I even inject drugs, but I don't think I am even close to 496rwhp. Not to burst your bubble though. Many have come on here stating way too high hp#'s with very little mods because they just don't know what it takes to get those actual hp#'s.

He said he looked it up online. I am guessing that it didnt account for a turbo.

255 at the wheels gets me to 75 in my home made quater mile at the county line, we all built it one nite with some paint and beers.

look at my '96 it has duals, as does cookies, with no cat or muffler it actually raps above 2500, but still whisltes when you lay into it.
