Its me again, replaced some vaccum lines today. I replaced the MAP on Friday. My engine light still is on, not all time but when it is again, rough idle, smell and poor gas millage. Ran the code check again and 129, 225 again. I can disregard the 225 but what is the odds of a new( bad) MAP sensor. I will admit I got it at Auto-zone for 35.00 plus tax. everywhere I checked it was 50.00 bucks. I need some ideas, I can't find a mechanic (locally )around here that can tell me anything that I have not already done.
Help again
Hummmmmmm. I have bought bad ( NEW PARTS ) off the shelf. There is a chance its bad. Try checking both ends of the vacuum line going to the MAP sensor.
You can check the signal output with a good digital-multimeter. Let the engine idle with a vacuum guage attached and backprobe the connector on the sensor. Here is the page from www.fordfuelinjection.com that deals with the MAP, http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=27 .
My MAP is a new Motorcraft unit and it's off a little. I don't know what tolerances are allowed.
Hmmm...so sensor is new, vacuum line is new....the last thing to check is the wire harness and wiring for the MAP. Also, you are goosing the throttle during the KOER test right?
