oil pressure gauge

The stock gauge isn't really all that great to the performance minded guy. It's fine for the average joe, but a real aftermarket gauge is a wise idea.
The oil pressure of an engine changes while driving. The stock gauge is setup to not be reactive to those changes in pressure. They don't want people to get confused and think it's not working right. So the gauge will just show normal unless you've got low oil pressure, I think 10 or below it'll actually move below "normal". It's like an idiot light but a gauge.
A real oil pressure gauge would tell you exactly what the pressure is at all times, and you'd see it fluctuate while driving.
