Talking It's finally ON. Lightning M112 on Propane 351c 84 Bronco

Hi guys,

It's been ages since my last post. I've been busy!
I have finally mounted the M112 unit onto the engine, I am now only waiting on a 9" range snout extension, a new distributor and the final tune.
the link direct to the 2 (rather large) pics is below

the brief specs (for any who are interested):
351 cleveland
ex-lightning Eaton M112 blower
dual GRA gas carbies
84 red & white Bronco XLT w/c6 trans

more pics to come!

Cool looking setup. What mileage do you expect? Of course it is running on LPG, so it should be cheaper though...

That's gonna be fun! What kind of power are you looking to get with that?

That looks cool and the fab work looks great!

One thing I was looking at, given the orientation, i bet it wouldn't be too hard to plumb in an air-to-air intercooler.

Very cool. propane only, or propane and gas, with propane providing fuel and cooling of the intake charge?

I am guessing it will be Propane only... Propane powered vehicles are VERY common here (Propane is about 1/3 the price of petrol here, it doesn't attract any Government tax due to being manufactured locally)

yup. propane only.
and yeah, I'm going to upgrade from the full-time water injection to water-air intercooler which will be modified to fit into the fabricated manifold.
M mechanic wont give me any power numbers, which I take to be a sound approach.
the engine was dynoed to 350hp at crank after it was run-in at 9.4 C:R naturally aspirated.
so with about 8 PSI boost power should go up a bit . it had better! its costing me a fortune. just paid for the snout extension from magnuson in USA. $870 AUD for that part alone
whole cost is now projected to be $8,000 which includes:

2nd hand M112 supercharger
2 x GRA propane carbs
2 x propane convertors
8-rib serpentine belt & pulleys.
harmonic balancer
fabrication & all labour plus tuning etc.

its been in the shop 6 months now.

Kudos and clarification required

I am very impressed with that upper intake...NICE WELDS. Now the question...how does your C-6 shift?! I am running a Vortech with a C-6 and I can't get my modulator to shift for crap! Got any guidance?

im going with a fully manualised shift kit for the C-6.
I'm taking the day off on wednesday to get out to the shop and take some pics. everything is complete except for the final part (the snout extension) the magnuson suppliers got the measurements wrong so the first one had to go back across the seas. :/

here's a pic of the billet aluminium crank pulley

and a pic of the duel convertors:

will post new pics on wed.

Its looking good Sean!
The crank pulley I like alot - It looks like it is alluminium, correct?

Could you just run selectable water injection?
That would be easier than fabbing up a water to air intercooler (although the intercooler would be easier to use once set up).
