Smile What's it worth?

I recently bought another 56 Ford pickup project and have a 272 V8 and 3 speed trans that I need to get rid of. Can anyone give me an idea of what price I should offer these for sale in the classifieds? The engine appears to be complete with the 2 barrel manifold. I would assume it will need a rebuild.
Thanks for any help offered.

I sold my 239 Yblock with a 3 speed for $300. Took a while to find the right buyer that needed a 239 for a resto. The 272 might sell quicker.

I don't think the block itself is particularly sought after. The heads might be interesting. Do you know what casting the heads are?

The front timing cover and motor mount are useful to someone who wants a Y-block in their pickup truck. What kind of transmission does that truck have?

The block can be bored to a 292 and use a 292 crank. Might help to sell it if that fact is disclosed to potential buyers.

pcmenten-
I'm not very familiar with the engine. It is in a storage bldg owned by the fellow I bought the truck from. I'll need to get it to my place so I can check the casting numbers. All I know of the transmission is that it is bolted to the engine and is a 3-speed. I hope to get more information in the near future.

RogerF100 - thanks for the comments.
