Wood Races Anyone?

Hey Fellow MIssourians,

There is a Wood Race scheduled for July 9-10 at Potawatomi Camp Ground in Fulton MO. This race is Hosted by MoRoc off road club out of St Louis. My Union is doing the consession stand there.

If any one is near Fulton come on out. I think it would be cool to meet some MO Chapter members and have a enjoyable day watching or even participating in the race. If my truck is ready I am sure I will be in it. Potawatomi is a small off road park just east of Fulton, it has trails for stock all the way up. Atv and bike trails also. Mud pits and lakes to swim and fish in.

Click here for more info on the wood races.

Mike

Fulton is located 8 miles south of I-70 on US 54 at the 148 mile marker (Kingdom City)
Kingdom City is about 90 miles from St louis and 148 miles from Kansas city.

Fulton is also 20 miles north of Jefferson City.

It be cool to finally meet you, if you can make it. Type in 65251 in yahoo or a map program and it will show better then i can describe.

I have never been to a wood race, but it sounds close too the truck shop challenge I went to at rock port. Should be interesting and fun.

Cool
I have meet a few of them. The other guy out there today in the 4 runner is from my club. They run out at fulton every now and then. When I was leaving to day there was 2 semi's pulling in with 4 trucks each on them. More people were showing up in the after noon with trucks and jeeps. Most of the people I have meet out there are good ole boys just wanting to wheel and have a fun time. Most the mud pits are dry oronly half full now.

Looks like it's pretty far back up in there. What's it cost, just the $5 entry fee. If I remember from their site it runs 9 to 5 correct. I'll let you know for sure later this week.

Its about a mile back to the event from the main gate. If it dont rain a lot its driveable to the event parking in back in any kind of vehicle. It cost $5 to get in the main gate (land owners land useage fee) Then $10 to get into the event at the event gat in back. Nathan said there are several stock and stock modifies signed up, more excepted to sign up on race day. Then event is 9-5 Saturday and Sunday. It should be a fun time. The courses are cool, will make the driver do some thinking on how to approach and manuver through them. The cliff in the pictures is a bounce line, only super modified and legend will be offered it due to safety reasons. If you have a ATV bring it with you. I will have ATV plus Shocker to run around the rest of the park on after the event. Your ranger would make most of the trails out there with no trouble also.

Sounds good. 15 bucks isn't too bad. No ATV here the wife limits me on the toy's. I'll be driving the F-150 so probably won't do much on the trails unless I get a wild hair up. Sounds like a good time the races should be good and it will probably give me a bunch if ideas for the Ranger.

As long as nothing major comes up I'll be there. I'm picking my buddy up at 8 so we should make it there sometime in between 10 or 11.

slmann nice to finally meet you. You guys picked the right day to come out only 2 competors on Sunday and 1 broke on the 2nd trail. Hope you enjoyed the races. It was a little sketchy running but I think these guys learned alot form their first event. I learned that shocker will not do go on these trails. So this winter the 87 BII is going to get built. I ran trails later Saturday and cut a sidewal then broke a axle shaft in the front. So time to retire it this year and fix the small stuff for next year also. I think the girl friend will end up driving the 87 BII once its done.

Later Mike
