inigtion switch removal
I need to get into my steering column. I have losened the three screws that hold the cover on, but the inigition flange needs to be removed in order to get to the gear shift linkage. F 350 1995 Ford Power Stroke. Email me. Please

The ignition setup was about the same on my 1994 as it is on my 2003, so with that in mind, here are a few reference pics I took of my 2003:
Picture 1: Put your key in the ignition switch and turn it to the "RUN" position. (Right before the START postion.) There is an access hole (red arrow) on the bottom cover that allows you to insert a screwdriver or a hole-punch to release the lock cylinder.

Picture 2:
Look in that hole with a flashlight and you'll see a ball-bearing looking item. This picture has the switch out so you can see the ball-bearing retaining mechanism better. (Red arrow)

Picture 3: With the key on "RUN", insert the screwdriver and push the ball-bearing inward and then grasp the lock cylinder and pull it out like you would pull out a key. It just snaps back into place when you want to put it back.
