What gas mileage to expect?

hey, i have a 1985 f-250 weighing 6200 pounds, i have the 300 inline 6 in it and a 4 speed tranny, motor has a 380 weber with clifford intake and headers, i was wondering what kind of gas mileage i shuold be getting, im currently getting 8-12 MPG on the highway and in town, is this right?, maybe i have a vacuum leak or too rich?, is there a way to see if the carb is running too rich?
thanks for the help

For starters, if your 1985 F-250 weighs 6200 pounds, you might want to look into to source of the extra weight. My 1980 F-350 4x4 400 auto weighs in at 5500 pounds with a Glasstite cap and 310 pounds of fuel in my dual tanks.

Concur.

It seems there are a lot of folks who overestimate the weight of their trucks... I wonder if they confuse curb weight with GVWR.

My '83 F250HD with a 460 and 4x4 weighs roughly 5,000 lbs. unladen. No cap.
