I think I am going to break down and spend the $8 on a new cap to see if it will fix the coolant issue. Have had a handfull of poeple say that sometimes the caps are bad and/or that once you have blown coolant the cap will be more likely to blow coolant again. Of course I did just have a dealer tell me that they checked the cap and it was fine. But besides changing the head gaskets, I am not sure what else to look into. Will let you guys know if changing the cap does anything.
Just put new cap on and loaded predator in 65hp mode. One lap around the block and already puked coolant. I don't think I even got above 55mph. And if I did, it couldn't have been for more then a few seconds.
Whats interesting is that stock, I can drive as hard as I want for as long as I want and I don't blow any coolant.
If it wasn't for using the Predator for two months or so with out having a coolant issue, I would be sure the issue was the Predator and not something else (like head gaskets)

The question I'm wondering is if you were having the coolant problem before you went to the Predator? The reason I ask is because I had problems with my Dodge headgasket grenading after I put an Edge EZ on it; then I had another headgasket start to go about a year later (with the EZ). Once you damage the headgasket(s) the damage is done.
Addmittedly, I'm a brand spankin new (still in learning mode) PSD guy but it would seem to me that the coolant is blowing out of the tank by getting pressurized by headgasket blow by. Based on the bad experiences I had with my Cummins headgaskets directly caused by a performance timing and fueling box, I've decided I will never run one again.
Educate me guys, I'm curious about the trends of these headgaskets going with folks running mods.
Just for an FYI: My truck had coolant residue at 33 miles when drove it off the lot. The only time mine has ever lost coolant with or without secondary programming is while towing.
Never lost coolant with heavy hammer at 65 H.P. setting.
Same here with my old Cummins. But that makes sense, if you think about it the engine is having to work a heck of a lot harder while towing and as such it's up on boost for much longer periods of time (i.e. climbing a mtn pass) than just "hot rodding" around empty (short periods of high boost). The only way I fixed the problem on my Cummins was to get a new headgasket dropped in and discontinue the use of the EZ. I can tell you without a doubt on the Cummins you do not want to mess with the injection timing if you tow because you will grenade headgaskets.
Yeah, too much experience with those headgaskets but what's even more sad is I've had WAY WAY WAY too much experience with auto-trannys going out in the Dodge pkg, (one of the big reasons I'm buying a Ford and one with a hand-shaker this week). I was sorely disappointed in the 47RE and then even more disappointed with a $5,000 aftermarket tranny after my 1st blown 47RE.
I'm hoping my Ford experience is much better to me than the Dodge Cummins experience was.
Drove around this weekend with the Predator on 65hp mode. Seemed like once the coolant level dropped down a bit, it quit blowing it out as much. Today, I dropped the truck off at Ford. Having the breaks done (have over 61,000 miles on it) and one of the recalls done. They are also going to try and figure out if there is something wrong with the truck as far as blowing coolant goes. But at least I can say that it has nothing to do with the cap. Three people last week suggested changing the cap so I figured I would give it a try.
