I know this is an odd question, but does the car timing chain cover have a different size oil stick pipe comming out of the top (size and height) as a truck timing chain cover? You may have read my previous questions about oil pans and manifolds for swaping a 460 into a '74 F250 2wd. I have found a factory oil pan and stick, I just want to make sure the timing chain cover oil stick hole isn't a difference to make everything work together. I think it has a D5TE-A cover on it. This is supposed to be for a truck, but with everything else that is not what we thought it has been on this engine, who knows if it is or not. I'm pulling the water pump later today to check. Anyway, just for kicks if anyone knows a difference in these covers and pipe size please let me know. Thanks.

Reason: Engine question Moved to Proper Engine Forum
it all depends on weather it is a front, mid, or rear sump pan, all front sump pans no matter what they are in have the dipstick in the cover, all the rest have them in the pan.
I should have been a bit more detailed with my response. I meant all 4x4 trucks will be in the side of the pan. For some reason I had a 4x4 on my mind when I responded the firt time. A 2 wheel drive will have it in the front cover. My bad.
