newbie needs some advice

my friend has a 2002 or maybe 2004 only has 24000 miles on it, harley davidson eddition. Of coarse supercharged.

Could someone give me the rundown on what he could do to increase power but keep it reliable?

I know he can change the pulley to a 4lb pulley but what else to keep it reliable?

exhaust ?

please let me know as we will be wanting to create some reliable power.thanks again.

Be sure you get a chip or a programer along with that 4lb pulley, as well as a good "safe" tune. If you have the bucks, having the eaton ported is good to keep it cooler and more effecient while being overspun.

Adding a four-pound pulley is the best bet. This gives you an easy 40-50 HP gain. The stock tune works fine with the extra boost or you can add a chip or tuner for another 15-25+ HP. My personal favorite is the Predator hand held tuner. This unit has the more features than any other currently available tuner. The stock airbox with a good filter flows plenty of air to support these HP levels so unless you want the looks or increased blower whine from an open filter I would not change the intake. If you decide to change the intake keep in mind any mod that changes the location of the MAF in the airflow can affect the Air/Fuel ratio and will warrant a trip to a local dyno to have the A/F checked. The stock exhaust also flows pretty well and there is little performance gained from switching exhaust. A Factory Tech Valve Body (FTVB) for the transmission will have your friends truck spinning through first into second and barking third. As already mentioned the ported blower is another good mod. I would also recommend a wideband A/F meter so you can monitor the affect of the various mods. Both Dynojet and AEM have good units.

How much will porting the blower cost? is it something we could do with tools? I know with turbos and so on you can use a dremel to port he exhaust ports , is it basically the same?

also where and how much is it for the FTVB? So getting a high flow K&N cone filter will make the charger whine louder? and add power good good.

Quick question, myself I only have experience with turbochargers. is there a way to add a intercooler to the truck? I have never seen a set with intercooler with a belt driven supercharger only with those chargers that look like turbos.

any more suggestion and location where to bey and prices will be greatly appreciated.
thanks again.

will Bullydog programmer work for our trucks? OR ar they only for diesels?

Here is a link for the DIY blower port.

If you are a little less adventurous then Bob Stegemeir is the man.

You can buy the FTVB from
http://www.chickenears.com/transmission.htm

The truck already has a water/air intercooler in the intake manifold.
