Question Anyone know about farm plates?

Thinking about registering my "new" winter beater as a farm vehicle with FARM licence plates since I'm not sure if it will pass the mandatory e-test to get it on the road. Anyone here have farm plates or know more about them?

I got farm plates in 1996 with my first truck. The small town licence bureau didn't question me as they knew I farmed with my Dad.
Today, they may request a Farm registration Number. (to get this you need to have a farm income >$7000.)
Also, a slow moving vehicle (SMV) sign is for vehicles that can't travel more then 45km/h. (plus not to be used for laneway markers)

PS
I really dislike it if I'm behind a poor emissions vehicle...they stink.

Thanks for the info. One thing to figure out would be insurance - do I pay the insurance or would the farm have to pay the insurance on it? It's my parents' farm and I don't officially own any of it yet.

I hate oily/gasy smelling vehicles too, I don't know yet if this truck runs that poorly or not, or just not well enough to pass the e-test.
