Any tips for removing C-clip on front axle shaft
I have a 92 F150 4WD, and have done front wheel bearing work on these types for years. I still have trouble removing the C-clip from the slot on the axle shaft in front of the bearing lock nut. Usually, I can spring it loose applying pressure from both sides with a couple of small screw drivers, and a busted knuckle or two. But, I keep thinking there must be an easier way, or maybe even a tool.
Does anyone have tips for making this easier? Thanks.

There is a tool exactly for that. It looks like a pair of plyers only with two pointy tips. It can be changed to do both the expanding and contracting types of c-clips (or whatever the heck they are called). If you have a Sears nearby, that is where I got mine - less than $20. Beats busted knuckles.
