I am only 14 and i just got a truck that has been handed down through my family forever. The truck is an 82' F100 Its in an ok condition, The motor is fine, it just needs a little bit of work which i can fix the motor myself, but it is in bad need of a paint job, the interior is falling apart, it needs a sound system, and it needs rims. I dont know what color to paint it or even where to get the paint job at. Here is the catch, since i dont have a job i have no money so i need good prices on everything. Email me a solution at mushroooom777@sbcglobal.net

for paint, it all depends on the color and how good you want the job to be. I just had mine repainted and it was painted cherry red and it only cost $800. it looks very good. i got it done at a local paint shop. go to macco.com and they can do paintjobs from $450 and up.
for sound system, i wouldnt know what you plan on having. If your going to have a am/fm/cd player or if you want to have one with an mp3 player or what. a good all around am/fm/cd player with a flipdown face for the cd is a poineer DEH-P4700MP. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Teldhy7...0&I=130DEHP470 It is $150. Then you could get pioneer speakers. Pending on the size you want, they can run from a lot of prices. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Teldhy7...sp?g=399&avf=N
For rims, i'd go with a Mickey Thompson Classic ll's. They look goodon any trucks. http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/wheels.html on the left click on classic ll. they run from $100-and up pending on the size. i could tell you what size you need if i knew the size of your tire.
For interior, send it away to an uppolstry shop and they can do everything for you. im not sure how much that might cost though.
Get a job. Trucks dont run themselves. Get the motor running first. The paint can wait, and the same for the wheels. Get the drive train in good condition. This truck will like gasoline. Trust me.
You'll have to take it slow, because it will take money. Watch for swap meets and ads in the papers. Salvage yards are another option, but you will find better deals usually at the swap meets.
