Want to fill in that ugly hole Ford left behind the front license plate area???

2004/2005 F-150 owners - finally.......the matching lower grill accent piece! I had seen this on a members truck (Ferguson65/Scott) and he provided me the contact information on where I could get this. (THANKS Scott) It exaclty matches the factory pattern/finish and comes complete with fasteners/instructions and I'm told it installs in less than 10 miuntes.....mine is on order and should arrive tomorrow! It is $44.95 not including shipping.

Check this site out - they are the ones who designed this and the only ones making this factory matching piece to fill in that ugly, gaping hole that Ford left behind the front license plate area.

"www.abbetteffects.com" (sorry don't know how to post and active link)

Awesome post!! I am 19 and just got my red fx4 scab (bought and paid for by yours truly) last monday and when I got it home the first thing I did was remove the front license plate. After looking at it for a while we thought that the grille was missing a piece. I am definitely going to look into getting one of them, thanx alot.

Quite a few forum users on www.Ford-Trucks.com have the grille accent piece (G.A.P.) from Abbett Effects. The mfg web site posted by HotLap has a list of dealers ... or you can look on ebay from time to time (none listed as of today).

FYI, that hole was actually left there on purpose by Ford to be used as a step to reach the engine. But, how many of us really do that!? So, yes, this little item completes the look of the front end.

Oh, when you want a link, just leave off those quotation marks. As long as you start with www., you'll get the hyperlink clickable in your posts.

Gordo - thanks for the advice....I had searched e-bay and checked the links on the Abbett web site to no avail...so I called them directly and Ryan was very helpful and took my order and shipped them the same day! Can't wait to cover that hole up! I never thought about standing on it to reach the engine....must be in case you need to inspect the very top surface of the transmission bell housing???

BZ - post a link if you have it to the e-bay location....I searched for several hours last week and couldn't find it anywhere on e-bay....perhaps some of the members can get it for less than the $44.95 + shipping??

Nope ... that $44.95 is the best price I've seen. Ebay sellers were selling them for $54.95 plus S&H ... making them close to $60 total. Again, I didn't find any for sale the other day ... haven't seen one on there in a few weeks ... and I check every day (how sad!).

Here's a link for a billet grill for the lower space. It's a good price, but the shipping is high. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33645&item=7979211 120&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
I got the same style grill inserts, but not the lower piece yet. I can't bring myself to pay more for the shipping than the part.

Well I tried the link after posting it, and can't get it to work for me. If it doesn't work for anybody else, just go to E-Bay and in the search area, put 04 05 F-150, you'll get a lot of stuff for our trucks.

No ebay links work on FTE.

Just search for item # 7979211120 .

For future reference, when making a recommendation to ebay just put the item number. The interested user can then cut-n-paste it into the search bar over at ebay.

Thanks for the tip, didn't know. I don't usually post links, but it seemed like something some of the crew here might be looking for.

Just wanted to check back in and report on the g.a.p. that arrived today. Quality piece, exactly matches the factory grill and easily installs in 5 minutes....I'd recommed this piece to anyone wanting to fill the gap......

Once again: 800.407.8937 ask for Ryan. $44.95 + shipping.
