Just curious if anyone else went out there for the festivities (sorry, can't think of a better word). I had never been there and went for the first time this year.

 

No, I did not make it out, but I could not help but notice all the beautiful and colorful flower arrangements that lined the many grave markers at the cemeteries in Owasso and Skiatook. What was the event at Floral Haven?

 

They have a large flag display (2200 flags IIRC) and this year had 2 Vietnam vintage Sikorsky helicopters and several old Jeeps on display. It is also the only place in the nation other than Arlington Cemetery that you can see a proper and authorized Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is done by the Civil Air Patrol cadets under my command. They range in age from 14-18 and do the ceremony just as well as the 3rd Infantry.
