Stiff steering in my 70 f100

i just replaced the powersteering pump and my front controlarms (or tie rods).
after installing the powersteering pump and bleeding it the powersteering
pump started making a noise. a humming or growling noise. also, when i am
driving, my steering is stiff. the powersteering pump doesn't seem to always
make this growling noise. but it does more so than not. what could the problem be?

Probably still has air in the system,it will work it's way out eventually.Make sure the kingpins take grease,if not that will cause stiff steering.
