Thanks for the suggestions. Many of the items you mentioned are things I've considered, but I'd really like to see examples of said mods before I start hacking on my baby. Any pics you have would be great.
Hi folks, I'm new here but may be able to help in regards to the brushguards etc.
I come from the world of hard wheeling and have run some of the hardest terrain here in the east with the ROvers and Land Cruisers we build.
At the shop we'll often see a nice rig with a Westin, Waag etc bar that has incurred some damage. Often it's the burshbar that actually inflicts most of the damage. When someone might have made it out of a fender bender with a small repair, the bars tend to bend into the trucks sheet metal and dent the hood, fenders and wreck the grill. Ironic eh?
Unfortunately aside from Safari Gard, I'm not too sure of anyone building something that will actually deflect damage (I'm sure they're out there though). Another disadvantage is that these true bullbars are not cheap and they weigh quite a bit...not a tradeoff most would make.
The look of the Wagg's etc is cool, but it may end up costing you.
go to www.cardomain.com they have a million expys there heavily modiffied for offrodad street etc. they have interior and exterior pictures and what is expected in the installs beleve me this is the best site to see other cars with stuff on it word playa
i'm having the same problem you are with finding the expy forums to be pretty empty! all the other forums i belong to i'll post a thread and have 10 responces in an hour!
but anyway... i have some pics of my newly acquired expy in my gallery. it's not for everyone's taste but i love it. heated seats, moonroof, 23" rims, low profile tires, Euro front lights and tail lights (DOT approved), tinted windows, bull bar, duel exhaust (real duel exhaust, not a Y... sounds SWEET!), Pioneer AVIC N1 GPS/CD/MP3/DVD with 6.5" screen, Pioneer voice recognition microphone, rear 7" TV screen, dolby digital surround sound, custom black headliner with beige around the top computer and moonroof, and probably more that i'm forgetting.
bigexpo, thanks HUGE for that link, I'll check it out right now. And skysurfer, holy behemoth! That's a NICE freakin' truck! You're right, it's not to everyone's taste, and probably not a direction I'd go, but still, VERY cool. I'd love to see any larger pics you may have.
