Can someone give me the length of the tailshaft on a T5 trans 1352-061 ( S-10 I was told ). I got what I think was a good deal on a 4X4 unit minus the T-case. I'm trying to figure out if the main shaft is the right one or if I will have to replace it. Also I need a tailshaft housing if anyone has one lying around.
all the S-10 T5s were non WC.
I don't know what's a good price, but if you have to replace (buy) an output shaft and tail housing you can probably find a complete 2WD T5 cheaper than the parts, they're plentiful and inexpensive.
I would find a tailshaft and housing that are the correct length. I don't think you want to mess around with mounting a transfer case also. Not to mention the extra weight.

I seem to recall some 2WD's years ago used a dummy transfer case. I can't remember if the S-10 was one of them. If so, that might take care of the weight problem. I'm just looking for the cheapest way out at this point, I couldn't resist that trans it looked like new inside.
