I know that this information is probably on this forum already but my head is spinning from looking at all the different posts . Anyway, I'm new to the diesel and towing scene and I pull a 22' enclosed race trailer every weekend. I'm looking to get:
Pyrometer
Tranny Temp
Turbo Boost
3 Gauge Pillar Pod
gauges for my 1999 F-350, 7.3L PSD, Dually, Lariat truck. However, I have a few questions first. I found a kit of everything I need for $300 from www.dieselmanor.com but I wasn't sure if this was a quality deal or not. I'm looking for OEM style gauges with the green backlighting to match my stock setup and it seemed as though the ISSPRO black faced gauges might be what I'm looking for. I also noticed that the DiPricol gauges looked decent. Is $300 too expensive for the whole setup (including the thermocoupler)?
I don't have the time to install the gauges myself, nor do I really trust myself with it, so what would be a fair price to expect for it to be installed? The only place I've talked to so far said $180.
As far as the gauges themselves, how high should my Pyro go on the temp reading? Should I get a 30# boost gauge or a 60#? Should I use a pre-turbo setup or a post-turbo setup? Is it possible to hook the three gauges to the dimmer in my truck?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, I'm just looking to do this soon since I'm towing every weekend. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

The Autometer Z-series gauges match up well with the stock gauges. I had a post on the Superduty and Heavy Duty forum about brands of gauges. You may want to check it out.
i recently installed the 3 gauge setup from dieselmanor and it came out to 330 which included everything, i thought it was a very good deal. definately go with them. the match to the original gauges is perfect. my pyro gauge goes to around 1500, ive only had it close to 1200 going up a hill with no mods, other than a kwik filter and banks monster exhaust, i plan on getting a 6 pos chip so im sure it will go higher. get the 30# boost guage that is more than enough. also have the pyro mounted pre turbo, that is where you get the most accurate reading. the reading there is the temp before it gets to the turbo compared to post turbo where the reading is not as accurate, but if you do post turbo you typically should add about i believe 2 to 300 degrees to what your gauge is reading. as far as the dimmer question, go to dieselmanor site and look up gauge installation and it will show you step by step how to do everything, its not that hard to do but if you decide to have somebody else do it for you print out the instructions off the site for them to use also. you definately came to the right place to ask questions, everything i just told you ive learned off this site. i never thought i could do the install myself but the guys here helped a lot. any questions just ask.
