Ford lists your curb weight at 5169 and your payload at 1820.

By your measures, the weight is 5400 and payload is 1650.

Very interesting.

If you take a gallon of gas to be 6.5 lbs, that's 175.5 lbs, which deduct from your payload. Actual weight of gas varies, and also depends on temperature.

1820-1650=170 lbs, which is RIGHT on the money.

I guess Ford's numbers add up. No real surprise there. I've found Ford to be the most forthcoming and straightforward of the truck manufacturers when dealing with published numbers like that. They don't seem to screw around with the numbers, like other manufacturers.

A gallon of water weighs around 8.32 pounds. So, I am guessing a gallon of gasoline would weigh a little more.Good Luck!

Gasoline is less dense than water, which is why it weighs about 6.5 lbs/gallon.

Thanks for the numbers Gene! I've been meaning to weigh mine but since we have the same truck (sans paint) I shouldn't have to!
