I have an after market remote starter, I followed two wire through the firewall and up the dash under the steering colum. I was looking for a remote control box that would have a name on it. The two remotes only works to start the van. Maybe someone can reprogram it to unlock my doors. I don't know the history of the van. The remote starter has a mercery hood switch. I check with the dealer and he said my van came with two factory remotes that had lock, unlock and a panic button. Do remotes have a name in the back cover.

most cheap Advertised specials of remote starts are the el-cheapo as basic a system as they can make.

for just a couple of dollars more, you can ge the system that you really want, lock/unlock/ trunk pop/ start/ and have some programming such as 12 or 24 auto restarts, 12/24/36 min run times etc.
