HYPERSTAT
Help anyone?
Have you checked to make sure the fan clutch is locking up when the engine gets warmer in the summer , running the A/c etc ? As for the thermostat , if the HyperChip adjusts the mixture using the 160 thermostat then you shouldnt have a problem . If the engine is running warmer and not overheating , check for radiator , A/c condensor blockage , leaves , bugs etc . What I have seen lots of times with the fan clutches is the bimetal spring that locks and unlocks the fan looses its ability to move over time which in turn keeps the fan from engaging when the engine needs extra cooling .

My post is a little misleading also, i didnt install the hyperchip, I understood that the hpperstat would work with any computer controlled engine. The instructions however seem to indicate that when a hyper chip is installed the hyperstat should be installed along with the chip.
I know its not very high tech , but the best way to tell if the fan clutch is working is to listen to it . When the fan is locked up it will roar ...its turning at the same speed as the engine . Mine always stays locked for 30 secs or so in the morning regardless of the temp . I had the same problem awhile back with the engine running warm but not to the point it would over heat . Changed fan clutches and it hovers around the 200 deg mark even in 90 deg weather w the a/c on.
