i just ordered a 3" body lift, and for some dumb reason, none of the body lifts for 80-96 fords come with brackets to raise the rear bumper. I heard a rumor that i could flip the mounting brackets and it would raise it a little. Maybe not the full 3" but it would look so much better. Is this true? Do they literally just flip, or is there some fabricating??? Thanks guys.

Looking at the rear of my 93 F350, flipping the bumper mounts upside down will result in the bumper being at an approximate 20 degree angle, pointing up - like a big texan stinkbug.
Essentially the bumper has two "bars" that stick back under the bed, and bolts to the outsides of the frame. Some of the bumpers are different, but what I describe is the most common.
You can easily fab up plates with four holes, to move the bumper up, it's not a big deal.
seeing as how you all are on the topic of bumpers i have a question, i have a 96 f-150 and i can not find the right size socket for the bolts that go through th bumper bracket and through the bumper i have tried every size metric and standard tried open end and boxed wrenches metric and standard still no luck. anyone know what size.
I also have a 3" body lift in my 94. At first I tried 'Fabricating' one myself, it worked but everytime i was on a steep angle it would bump the ground and move. So I just bought a new one last month and I just drilled new holes in the frame. Not the best way of doing it, but it works and it is solid.
