Starting troubles still.
I am currently having starting troubles with my 6.0. When using my command start (python881xp) it is not firing up the first time.It does do a 20 second delay for the glow plugs. All but once it started on the second attempt. It had done this to me the odd time even before I had the remote start installed,(feb) where the first attempt failed and then after re doing the glow plug procedure fires up immediatly, with a lot of smoke and smell. Currently it is happening on every (remote) start attempt. My code reader shows water in the fuel, but nothing to do with glow plugs. Any ideas?
The remote start and hand start worked perfectly fine in minus 30 c to minus 5 c, but the problem mainly happens at around freezing. minus 5 c to +5(about 32 f)
Intermittent Unsuccessful Remote Start and/or Stall After Remote Start:
Some trucks may exhibit a no start condition when using a remote start system. Or, the the engine may start and run for up to five seconds then stall. The start/stall condition may repeat itself up to four times without operator input. The technician should contact the Ford Remote Start Technical Hotline for diagnostic assistance. A tach signal booster, P/N 102818-2, may be needed. Broadcast Message 1722.
input for a remote start. the PCM will disengage the starter when the engine runs.
i'm not sure what year they started this feature.
you can tell when you start it by hand, just hold the key in the start position, it will not grind the starter.
Check the passenger side battery Aux. connections
