Military tires?

Anyone know where I can find the surplus military auctions, or whatever they are where they sell the used military tires and wheels, etc? I'm in Phx.. so hopefully they have on somewhat close by. I've been searching on the internet for a while now and can't find anything on it. :-/

I couldn't quite find what I was lookin' for on that site, but, I guess the national guard places gather all their used stuff up and sell them every once in a while or something, I saw something about it in the 4x4 forum once. People were gettin' good hummer tires with 80%+ tread left for practically nothing. Guess I'll have to ask around there. I was just checkin' here first since it's in my area.

Go do a search in the off road forum. Those guys are always talking about tires coming off of military hummers and stuff. They might have a link on there somewhere that will lead you in the right direction. Otherwise, there's an army surplus store in mesa called Larada's (Main and Ext.). You might try them up and see if they know where you can get 'em.

I got it moving enough to push it into my backyard w/ the help of a few friends, and it's still sittin' back there.. I got to lookin' at it a little more, and I really don't know if anyone is gonna want it, there's so little left to it. :-/ I'll take some pictures of it, inside and out and repost it, and if someone still decides they want it, then they can have it.

Well, send some pictures over.. I love to mess with crap even if I end up scraping it. If its a decent frame or decent body thats what most people need to make SOMETHING out of it. Its good welding/fabricating practice which I am in dire need of.. I suck at it right now.

Yeah, a buddy of mine owns a wrecking yard. We could tear some sh, uhh stuff up out there in it (assuming we could even get it running).

if ntohing else we could throw any old front axel in there, and push it down a hill into stuff...... and then tow it back up the hill and do it again.

Assuming your friend's yard is near a hill.

I was just out there today and he just scrapped 200 cars he had so his lot is pretty bare bones right now. Still alot of junk out there though. I was eyein' up some monster axles he had out there, trying to figure out how I could incorporate them into a jeep (that I don't even have yet).
