E-Brake Cables 72 F-250 4x4?

Anyone know where I can get replacement parking brake cables for a 72 F-250 4x4. LMC doesn't have them listed and I have searched all over the web with no luck. I've been building this truck for my brother since September and he still hasn't seen it and all I need to be done with it and get it doen to him is to finish the brakes.
Thanks for the help.

Found it

Would you beleive NAPA had it. After checking all the specialty sights and Ford. I figured I would have to spend the money for a set of the "make your own" cables. Was looking on NAPA online.com and they carry it. Suposed to be in tomorrow. We'll see if it fits.

I just checked them out for my 1967 F-250....looks like you can get all three cables (two for back, one in front) for around $100.00

Wow! That's more than I thought they would be. I think I will rob some from a parts truck.

Wow! That must be new.. I remember checking with them a few years back and they didn't carry them at all. I'll have to go online and order a set soon! It would be nice to have an E-Brake again.. Thanks for the tip!

Actually...the last guy I found that could "make" cables for me said thay would be about $80 each.....so the NAPA price is great in my opinion! Plus.....this is your brakes man....what's more, your EMERGENCY brake...do you really want to put *used* parts in there?

Its just a parking brake, not an emergency brake. If your brakes are that bad that you have to rely on the park brake, I think it's time to put some cash towards stopping power. Do you mean to tell me you have purchased all new pieces for your truck? All cars and trucks run on used parts. If they are in good condition why spend $100 when you can try for $15? If not, you are only out a few bucks. The salvage yards take returns for 30 days around here.

I agree, they are holding brakes not stopping brakes.

Here's my take on it.....When you one day hit the pedal and one of the rubber llines blows out....you may have nothing for foot brakes at speed, then, your "Parking Brake" IS your *emergency* brake. Old cars can have random parts fail at the most unexpected times......and Yes, nearly everything in my braking system is new now save the hard lines.....which will probably be replaced before this time next year....Brakes are just an area I don't take chances in....especially with such a heavy "momentum prone" vehicle.

Just a safety concearn....feel free to do what you like, just let me know what your driving so I can make sure to stay out of the way.

Good call. I know brakes are important and yes they could fail at any time. It isn't easy stopping our heavy rigs either. Also, I think your truck should have a dual resivoir master cylander. You would only loose one set of brakes if 1 rubber line broke. I had to drive a truck with front brakes only one time. It was pretty scary. I just hope that we all can maintain our vehicles to function properly. I guess if you had to you could downshift and/or shut off the ignition in gear.

Someone put it to me this way once:

"It's always better to be able to stop than to go".

'nuff said.

That is quite correct, and you and bubba can stick your foot out and slow it down too if you have enough sole.
