CHAPTER HOUSE in ATOKA

CHAPTER HOUSE in ATOKA
(Atoka is a few miles north of Memphis, just over the Shelby County line)
I'm thinkin' to get my yard and stuff set up for "THOW DOWNS" on FRIDAY NIGHTS, where we can all come on out, and barbeque together, talk truck, and have some cold ones together. I am out in the country, and have a half acre, two bathrooms, and great neighbors! I can break out about three hundred watts of country music (Y'all bring your favorite CD's, and we can put them on!).
Bring coals, brew, and a tent if you want to stay over (like I said - there's a half acre of land). Or plan for a driver if you want to 'partake' on some brew. - I don't hold to drivin' under the influence, it just ain't right.
We can have a good ole time, network, and cut loose. The directions are easy - git you on up to Munford on highway 51 (crosstown) and head west until you reach the intersection of the Munford/Drummonds road, Quito/Drummonds road, and Richardson landing road. Martha's store is at that corner - go down the road next to the old quonset building (Barton Road) and the place is at the very end of it.
Bug spray is a pre-thought that is worth thinking on. Skeeters are fierce, but wood smoke cuts them back a lot. If you have some old pallets you want to be rid of - we can thow them on the fire too.
My neighbors across the way are hard-core Mustang racers, I'd like for you to meet them if you don't know Don already.
The weather is right, it's warm and the stars at night out here are a spectacle well worth seeing, almost as good as the desert.
A steak house is one thing, but being our ownselves is a whole 'nuther breed of critter...
IT'S ABOUT TIME WE ALL GOT TOGETHER! What do you say?
Summer time is HERE

It is a decent drive for me to get to Atoka. But if I go I-24W, US-72W, I-565W, US-72W alternatate, and cross over to Memphis that way it should take me just a few hours.
Most people don't realize it but it is shorter to go acrosse AL & MS to get to Memphis then it is to go to Nashville & drop down. Around 75 miles shorter actually.
I will probally be the only one driving a Camaro though. Actually I would probally get a redneck beating for that, won't I?
This state is so broad from west to east but narrow in north to south. It will be hard to get everyone together all at once.
Perhaps it may be a good idea to break it up into mini regions with monthly or bi-monthly meets & then have one or two meetings a year as a full region?

Times are tough right now, but you bring the beer and i've got the yard and a bonfire ready to go (out in the country).
I just lucked into a whole trailer load of assorted wood, and a bunch of 4X4 block and rail to make projects out of. Next weekend if the wood and what not is dry I'd like to light it and git rid of the extra parts i cant use, I have a smoker, two bathrooms, and a half acre if anyone wants to tent over.
There is also extra room in the house, I live here alone. I'd be glad to have you if you want to come by next weekend! Bring some grillables and we'll hang out and scare the skeeters all the way to alabama!
By then the back deck will be ready for my sound equipment - all 400 watts.

How about FRIDAY THE 15Th, provided it don't rain cats, dogs, horses, cattle, kitfoxes, and polecats that particular day?
Bring hamburger or other eats, tents or sleeping bags, and brew!
-Not to mention DEET spray...
Also bring CD's - I want to hear your music!
(lawyers will be escorted off of the property "sans decorum" barring significant commendations from the chapter itself)

Gather, my friends - and we can have a BLAST!
- Inexpensively, I might add....
