Mallory module update

Hi gang. I'm sure everybody was losing sleep over this, so I thought I'd provide an update.

Harrison finally quit on me and would NOT crank no matter WHAT I did (remember - he's been shutting off randomly for the past year but starting back up IMMEDIATELY..)

Any way, I had ordered the Mallory Ignition Module and put it in the glove box for "possible use" if let down at another time. I replaced the module about 2 months ago and he's been running strong ever since. In FACT, I swear he runs STRONGER after the replacement (weird?...). When I disconnected the module connector I noticed a small puddle of moisture in the connector - I'd bet my next paycheck that's what was shorting it out making Harrison quit.

Just thought I'd post an update so y'all can git some rest now...

I'd bet on it as well! My friend has a Mallory Unilite distributor in a 72 Pontiac and it did the exact same thing. He finally switched back to a points ignition. The bad thing is, those modules cost big $$ and if you pay $250 for the distributor, you don't want to pay another $90-95 for a new module down the road.
