2006 Excursion???

I thought the Excursion was officially extinct after 2005 but the latest Job 1 build dates (updated April 17th) shows the X again.

Don't believe what you read on blue oval news. Lately they can't seem to get much of anything right.

I just took a look at that. Not sure what to believe. It wouldn't supprise me though if the EX has another reprieve especially if the Expedition extended length isn't ready yet.

What a shame to see the X go. With all the new "larger" SUV's you'd think Ford would be on top of it with a 06 X.

Thumbs up

I was talking to sales manager at ford where I recieved the bad news on my excursion. The sales manager says that this year was the last year for the excursion. What a shame, the excursion is great for the family and does rather well in gas mileage.

Which engine is this?

Does this mean the 4.5L Powerstroke V-6 was to heavy or unrefined for this vehicle?

I dont know... I know VT275 4.5L is exactly 3/4 of the PS 6.0L (VT365). Its already available in International Trucks. I had heard this was a possible option for the Stretched Expedition. International has stated flatly that it will be available in a 2007 Passenger Vehicle although they refuse to name it.

The VT275 4.5L I have seen in the Medium Duty CF is 200bhp @ 3000 rpm and 440 lb-ft Torque. They have a uprated version in the pipeline at 230bhp and 460 lb-ft though.

BTW They make this engine in a plant they bought from Cummins/Onan in Huntsville (Madison) AL. Guess what this plant used to make? The Cummins B5.9L 12V that was used in the Pre-'98 Dodges! Its a small world....

I don't know about where you guys are at but I cannot find a stocking dealer! If Ford wanted to sell more of the X they would make sure that every dealer have some on their lot. My local Ford store has NEVER had one in stock for show and tell. I had to buy mine out of town! You can't sell what you don't have.

I was at the dealer this morning to hopefully have the stalling issue on my '03 Cobra fixed. The manager and I were speaking about the biz in general, and he confirmed that the Excursion is done this year. They have 4 '05s in stock.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen an ad for the Excursion. I know for sure I haven't seen one on TV as I've been watching one to roll out with their SUV ads. But it ever has.
