engine year question

2 of my friends both own 1992 ford f-150's with the 5.0's with overdrive trannies,i have a '91 f-150 with the 5.0 and the overdrive tranny and i was wondering if there were any differences between their engines and trannys from mine since their in the '92 to 96 gap and im in the '87 to '91 or are the engines the same?

I don't think there was any change until 1994 when mass air was put on.

The 1992 F150 5.0 was the first engine to have a roller cam in a F150.This roller cam gave the truck 7 percent less internal friction within the engine.
