Crazy idea?

Yesterday afternoon, as I was picking up The Trader and the Indiana Auto & RV classifieds, the idea struck me to start looking for a '60 - '65 F-100, and use my '91 F-150 as the donor. In thinking about it some more, I figured that I'd end up with a parts chaser/daily driver with all the modern (for 1991) conveniences that I've grown used to, over the past year that I've owned it, but in a "package" old enough for some car shows with 1965 or earlier as the entry criteria...such as the coming Rockabilly Weekend, in Indy in June.

Any thoughts on this idea...pros, cons or potential problems to look out for? Any other antique Ford truck suggestions, other than my proposed '60 - '65 F-100? I ask this, now, because if I'm not mistaken, wouldn't the unibody construction be problematic, if I'd want to haul any of my other vehicles with it?

Matt

Well, you could put that old sheetmetal on top of your "modern" chassis.
