violent shake through out truck

I have a 2004 f-150 ext cab 4x4. The other day i went to a store used my parking brake, when i drove home the whole truck was shaking, got home went to work the next day it was fine. Went on a trip about 200 miles truck was fine pulled into a store used parking brake again driving from the store to the house again truck was shaking. I drove the truck around that weekend no problems. I was driving home on the high way been driving like 15 miles the truck again goes into this violent shake, I get off the high way still shaking violently pulled into truck stop went in for a coffee got back into my truck and it was fine. Its been fine all week. The truck always had a little shake in steering wheel but not like this.Thought it could of been from parking brake but i had not used it the last time it did this. Any body have any answers for me???

Your e-brake is definitely sticking. I have just spent the last 5 weeks dealing with the same symptoms. Eventually you will not have any e-brake left at all and your roter will be trash. Get your truck to the dealer and tell em to check it - I was told there would be a TSB on this soon.

I experience the same thing one, but it was my fault. I accidentaly failed to release the break....This was after returning from a deployment and spending 8 mos driving HMMWV's where the parking break is the console type. Take a look at your rotor, they've probably got some signs of extreme wear. You can also pull over after you feel the vibe and "smell" the rear, you'll definately smeel burnt break pad if its the source of your aggravation.
