Seriously considering the edge 4.5" kit for an 03 F-350, CC long box. Few questions, the block that it comes with, do you have to stack it with the factory block? what would happen if i didnt order the carrier bearing shim. The truck has a leveling kit already, it never sees the offroad, what tires would you run on it? How important is the adjustable panhard bar?
You don't want to stack blocks on your lift. In some states, it is actually illegal to stack blocks on the rear. As far as the carrier bearing, if you don't shim it then you'll get the wonderful take off shudder that I had until I realized my shop didn't shim it. You'll definately want to order the shim. Tires, I'd say 35" for a 4.5" lift would look nice and shouldn't rub on full lock turns and even some offroading. I know you said the truck never leaves the pavement, but as soon as you lift it, I bet you'll be all over that next mudhole
Well thats just it, we have enough rigs to mud with already, 35's is kind of what i was thinking, she was hoping for 37's due to the fact that is what i run on my truck. different trucks, different lift. Okay on the carrier shim, i've never had to deal with it, as my rear driveline is a 1 piece deal. I would rather not stack blocks, that is why i asked, on my truck i went with rear springs.
IMO that is the best kit for a superduty, I have there 3" leveling kit and love it. As far as stacking blocks in the rear I dont think it is a problem within reason just have to get longer u bolts. Stacking blocks in the front is a no no.Yes Yes Yes get the panrod bar it is a must on that height lift, and you will need to shim the carrier bearing without a doubt.Good luck
