What are your projects for this summer?
Hello Ontario members!
What are your projects for this summer?
I have a good list for this summer!
1-Get the f250 on the road! (Changing motor "460", trans"zf5sp",rear springs, gas tank, new Reese hitch, and a paint job! Metallic midnight blue.) That I want done by the May 24 weekend! I guess I better get on it!
2-Have a 1980 Suzuki 4X4 that I want to make road worthy! Yes I know its not a Ford! But you find me a ford that is that small! I will trade!
3-I have a 92 ranger 4 liter v6 with 5speed trans that I would like to make into a hotrod but still am undecided as what I am going to do with it!
I have a spare 460 and c6 trans. Also can get a 360 with a c6. Or just beef up the v6, but if I do I would like to put an auto in-place of the 5sp.
Also have a 9" rear-end that I can some how resize. "Was off a mercury"
Well that is what I am up to! What are you up to?

Just some maintenance stuff to do on my '79. I need to replace the rad. I suspect it's plugged up. Maintains perfect operating temp around town, but if I hit the highway it overheats after about 20 min's of high speed running. I just installed a new window runner on the drivers door window and also some new sill plates. I'd like to overhaul the carb when I get the energy to yank it out... The old man picked up a 1993 F150 2wd 302 auto. Only has 144,000km on it. Guess who gets to replace and paint the front fenders... yeah me. Both of them have rotted right through on the bottom right ahead of the doors. Oh well, what can you do...

I've got no time to work on the vehicles. I want to build a basic deck on the back of the house but the main project comes first. I have to get the basement finished before the baby arrives late this fall. All I have now is framing done and little time to work on it other than weekends. Who wants to spend their summer weekends in a dark basement?

Hmm... projects... truck wise...:
Taking off the Flareside box:
-putting better supports under the wood
-putting the rear fender flares on once the box is done
-finishing the spray in box liner (another coat or two)
-put the tailgate back on
-build a rear bumper to match the front one
Gut the interior:
-new seats
-new dash pad
-figure out some paint/stain solution to colour the door panels
-another new stereo (last new sony lasted a total of 1 yr)
Odds and Ends:
-Build a receiver hitch into the front and rear tube bumpers for winch mounting
-Build double tube headache rack
-Hit 70,000 km's on the old '86 beast maybe this summer...maybe...
That's about it truck wise this summer... for this one anyhow

Too much to do
I have jumped into soooo many projects this year
-fixing the grass in the back yard
-finishing my girls rooms upstairs
-working on my truck,
-putting my new carb on
-wires, plugs, cap, rotor
-got rear and front quarters to put on
-need to get new rockers
-fix the front drive
-fix up the interior
-add my stereo
-work on a suspention lift
-find enough money for bigger tires
-still need to finish the bathroom(just cosmetic stuff)
and just this week I tore out two walls to make the kitchen bigger and still need to finish this.
I think I have enough to keep me busy for a bit

I have a tiller to get running - got it for free
have to work on the interior of my truck - i hate when the headliner flaps on the top of my hat.
build new exhaust system and replace ignition in the mustang.
Bought an old (1975) motorhome and have been working on it. Its powered by a c-brand engine and after finally getting it going - repaired HEI and replaced the fuel pump i find its blowing out the rad and now i have to do head gaskets. Kind of makes you aprreciate ford's better engines and better laid out van chassis.
Plus there's always the "honey do" list.
If i can find the time i might sit and relax on the porch i built last summer
bye for now

Let's see, in no particular order of priority (some are higher according to my wife ):
- buy "new" winter beater
- get some equipment installed and running at farm
- landscaping yard, new flowerbed? build patio from free interlocking brick we got?
- finish drywall upstairs
- redo stairs
- put door on our daughter's room
- continue to collect parts for manual tranny swap in 79
- finish pulling needed parts from 74 and scrap the rest
- finish removing scrap metal from farm
- finish back porch on house
- other house projects.....
- get ready for arrival of child #2
I could probably find more projects needed but I'd run out of space to write them all!

I also have a 2003 RX1 has 9000km on it but needs new slides and a good carb job!
Well still have alot to do on my truck but I'm getting there. Sold the suzuki today and sold the ranger a few weeks ago so that shortens the list!
Still have some yard work to do plus I have to put a new tin roof on my garage.
I have some pictures in my gallery of the f250 job. Will add some more soon.

Hey Folks,
I finally got my 1999 Ranger signed over from my old man and even though its only turned over 129000 kms, it still feels a little wheezy. To rectify this, dual exhaust, a superchip tuner and perhaps even a gear swap are in the works. I'd really like to put headers and a cam in the ol' 4.0, but $1000 for both and a weekend to install seems a bit much. Does anyone have any advice on which mufflers/resonators would sound most like an 8 cylinder?
Cheers,
Sean
